The Pineider Tempi Moderni collection was born from the continuous search for the perfect pen, combining ergonomics, design and writing pleasure. Its inspiration comes from the fuselage of early jet aircraft, with its triangular section and strongly rounded edges, as well as from the act of writing itself: the thumb, index and middle finger, the three fingers that naturally hold a pen.
From this idea emerged a design in which aesthetics and functionality become one. The pen begins with an ogive-shaped profile, becomes triangular around the grip and gradually ends in a round section. Its three sides naturally accommodate the fingers, providing a comfortable writing position and turning each movement into a more engaging and enjoyable experience.
Launched in 2023, Tempi Moderni interprets the spirit of innovation through a contemporary design inspired by technological progress and modernity. Its name pays tribute to Charlie Chaplin’s Modern Times and to the transformations brought by the Industrial Revolution, reinterpreted through Pineider’s artisanal sensibility.
The pen’s evolving shape, from ogive to triangular and finally round, gives it an instantly recognizable identity. This distinctive design is combined with the Magnetic Lock system, a double-magnet closure engineered to make opening effortless while keeping the cap secure and stable.
Tempi Moderni therefore brings together futuristic design and magnetic innovation, while keeping writing comfort and Pineider craftsmanship at the heart of the experience.
Tempi Moderni is not only a tribute to the history of aviation and technological progress, but also a collection created for those who see a pen as a true design object. The collection includes fountain pens, ballpoint pens, rollerball pens and mechanical pencil versions, all crafted from polished resin. The fountain pen features a No. 6 steel nib, available in Extra Fine, Fine and Medium sizes, while the ring is engraved with the words “Tempi Moderni”. The marine-grade steel feather clip recalls one of Pineider’s most recognizable design signatures.
Metal details are offered in Palladium, Rose Gold or Ruthenium Super Black finishes, paired with Black or British Racing Green resin. The result is a balance of contemporary character, elegance and meticulous attention to detail.
In the fountain pen version, the converter filling system offers a practical way to enjoy the traditional ritual of writing with bottled ink. Every detail is designed to make the experience intuitive and fluid, from the ergonomic shape to the magnetic cap opening.
The packaging reflects the distinctive character of the collection as well. Each Tempi Moderni writing instrument is presented in an elegant black case inspired by Pineider’s iconic writing desk, complete with cards and envelopes made from Pineider watermarked paper.
